Create an Electrical Inventory
In order to make sure your electrical system will fit your needs, make a checklist of all the electrical devices that are used in the home. Make a list of all the appliances that will need a power source from your residence. Start with all the items that use a lot of power, i.e. TV’s, your washer and dryer, hair dryers, dishwasher, oven, your heater and your air conditioning. Then add on some of the smaller appliances like toasters and radios. Making a list will show you how much energy you need to plan for.
Plan of Action and Carrying Out the Steps
Once you’ve done your initial homework, sit down and create a punch list that focuses on what you want done and when you want it completed. One of our master electrical technicians can work with you to help you get your home electrically efficient and give you a realistic time frame. Some re-wiring jobs may take a long time to complete, but creating a plan of action will show you the work that is done and what still needs to be worked on.
Always Put Things in Writing, But Leave Flexibility
When dealing with work done on your home always, and I mean always, draft a contract this way you are protected and guarantees are legitimate. We aren’t saying that everyone you meet is a crook, but it is always better to be safe than sorry. Surprises can and more than likely will pop up, especially when it comes to digging into a building’s structure. When setting a deadline make it reachable and flexible, rewiring a house is a timely process and must be done properly to ensure the safety of all those in your home.
